A Drummer's Tale
A Drummer's Tale ~ 28th June 2012
Why did you do the Captain Blue project in the first place?
'Cos I owed Rob so much money, isn't that why everyone did the gig?
What was it you liked about it all?
Of course the idea of working with Rob was great but the idea of all his minders hurting me was so scarey! Actually I loved the songs Rob played me and wanted to have some fun on it, which we did! :)
One song in particular has a very odd time signature...to this day I reckon Rob and I will still disagree 'what it is'! But of course - 'the drummer always knows best'!! We did have a laugh on that one!
What was the least enjoyable experience of the project?
The stomach ache after the day old pizza I brought with me, which lasted through the last day of recording!
What was the most enjoyable experience of the project?
Being told the solo was okay and all tracks were making people very happy!
What was - for you - the funniest moment?
As we left my house to travel to the studio, I was in my old wreck, and Rob was in his lovely motor which went from 0 to "F*ck off" in no time flat when we arrived at the motorway. Mine needs a hill and a following wind to do 65!
How much (or not!) did you enjoy the project?
Of course I enjoyed it, I still talk to Rob, don't I?! Plus he plied me with Guinness! Gawd luv 'im! And my kneecaps are still intact... ; )
Which is your favourite track - and why?
Soaring To The Sun and one I did a solo on.
Anything else you can think of?!!
Rob's photos; the enjoyment on his face when he was chatting to my sisters at my Pizza Express gig, and the vibe he brings!
Finally - would you do it again?!!
Oooh, no! LOL!
